A new online resource bringing local news to St Agnes Parish.
Following in the footsteps of sadly discontinued The Bolster, its aim is to serve the community with updates from around the parish.
If you'd like to contribute any local news or announcements (be that a sports club, community group, or personal story), please get in touch.
At some point in the future we hope to create a printed version of the news for those not online but this will depend on the success of the online version.

There is currently a vacancy for a parish councillor in the Mount Hawke Ward. An election was called in September, but the nomination deadline passed on 11 September with no nominations received, so the seat remains empty. A formal Notice of Vacancy was then issued on 22 September. If ten electors in the parish ask in writing for an election by 12 October 2026, one will be held, no later than 14 December 2026. Otherwise, the vacancy will be filled by co-option. If you care about Mount Hawke and would like to help represent your community, now is the time to get in touch.

Following feedback from residents, the Parish Council has explained how the payment systems at Porthtowan and Trevaunance Cove help keep the parish’s public toilets open. Keeping the three sites running in 2026/27 will cost more than £58,000, and the income reduces the amount that has to come from Council Tax. Improvements such as hot water, warmer hand-dryers and showers are being considered, with budget decisions for 2027/28 usually made between October and December. Parish residents don’t need to pay each visit: a resident access card gives unlimited use of both sites for a one-off £10, available from the Parish Office with your latest Council Tax bill, photo ID and the fee.
