    The Number 1 Holiday Destination

See 'The Number 1 Holiday Destination,' a hilarious new comedy play at Mount Pleasant Eco Park. This fast-paced farce offers big laughs and smart wit as a nation nationalises tourism.

The Number 1 Holiday Destination is a bold, fast-paced new comedy set in a freshly independent country with a big idea and absolutely no plan for what comes next. In this surreal, farcical world, a small and slightly unstable nation decides to solve the problem of mass tourism once and for all by nationalising it. Inspired by Bhutan’s real-life model of tightly controlled, state-run tourism, this pastoral country takes it all one step further by owning the entire holiday industry itself. What starts as an idealistic attempt to protect culture, community, and coastline quickly snowballs into a spectacular experiment, complete with absurd rules, escalating chaos, and consequences nobody saw coming. Co-created by Jack Brownridge-Kelly and Danny Frost, the play skewers the contradictions of tourism with sharp wit and heightened surrealism. It’s a show about money, power, belonging, and the uncomfortable question of who a place is really for, all wrapped up in character-driven storytelling and big laughs. Rooted in the Southwest but instantly recognizable far beyond it, The Number 1 Holiday Destination promises a smart, silly, and uncomfortably familiar night at the theatre. WHEN: October 28th 7:30pm – 10pm TICKETS: £15 supporter | £12 standard | £8 u18 | £32 fam Tickets

An Dannsa Dub – Gaelic Traditional Folk & Dub Fusion

An Dannsa Dub bring their unique Gaelic folk and dub fusion to Mount Pleasant Eco Park. Expect ancient sounds, electronic rhythms, and unmissable energy for an 18+ crowd.

DATE: Friday 6th November 2026 TIMES: Bar & Food from 6.00pm. Something genuinely extraordinary is heading to Eco Park Porthtowan this November. An Dannsa Dub have been one of the most exciting acts on the UK festival circuit since bursting onto the scene in 2020. Led by Tom Spirals and Euan McLaughlin, they have carved out a sound entirely their own — weaving the mystical textures of Gaelic song and traditional Scottish instruments into deep, rolling dub rhythms and thunderous basslines. Ancient and futuristic. Rootsy and electronic. And absolutely impossible to stand still to. Twice nominated for Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Awards, the band have electrified crowds at Glastonbury, Celtic Connections, Dubcamp in France and Goa Sunsplash in India. Their music has earned BBC airplay from Don Letts, Craig Charles and Tom Robinson — and their debut album 'Air An Turas' brought critical acclaim and extensive touring across the globe. Their latest album 'Through The Storm' marks a bold new chapter — co-produced by legendary dub producer Gaudi and mixed by dubmaster Paolo Baldini Dubfiles, featuring an extraordinary cast of collaborators including Junior Dread, Josie Duncan, corto.alto and Rachel Newton. It is a record that cements An Dannsa Dub's place on the international stage. Live, they are something else entirely. Expect fiddle, flute, soaring Gaelic vocals, and a rhythm section that will shake the walls of Skylarking from floor to ceiling. Buy tickets

St Agnes Theatre Players - PACK OF LIES

St Agnes Theatre Players ask: How well do you know your friends? See "PACK OF LIES," an intriguing drama about the true 1960s Portland spy ring, where loyalty and deception collide.

“How well do you really know your friends?” Award winning St Agnes Theatre Players bring you PACK OF LIES by Hugh Whitemore - an intriguing drama of deception and high stakes espionage based on the true events of the Portland spy ring in the early 1960s. The Jacksons, a seemingly ordinary middle-aged English couple, share a close friendship with their Canadian neighbours, the Krogers. All appears blissful until Autumn 1960 when a detective from Scotland Yard approaches them. He asks to use their house as an observation station to uncover a Soviet spy ring operating in the area. Loyalty, duty, and friendship collide as the Jacksons slowly discover that the Krogers, their cherished friends, are not what they appear ....

    The Turbans

Experience The Turbans, a vibrant international collective playing a fusion of Arabic, Balkan, and Turkish music. Their high-energy live show promises a joyful, dance-filled night for everyone.

The Turbans are an international collective whose music draws deeply from Arabic, Balkan, and Turkish traditions, with threads from Eastern Europe and the wider Mediterranean. Built from the intertwining paths and cultural crossings of its widely travelled, highly skilled musicians, The Turbans have grown from humble beginnings into a distinctive force on the global world music scene. Founded in folk but lit by powerful electric guitar lines, their sweeping orchestral layers and ancient oriental rhythms combine to create a psychedelic, transcendental sound. Their live show is the real driving force: an interstellar, crowd-igniting experience that pulls everyone into the same rhythm. Energy flows freely between stage and audience and the crowd moves as one. With a bold eastern sound, driving rhythmic pulse, and a striking presence, they leave audiences with little choice but to smile, dance, and shout for joy. The band's core members have roots in Bulgaria, Greece, Iraq, Israel, Iran, England, Spain, and Italy, and have come together, united beyond borders, to play concerts and main-stage festivals across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Hong Kong, India, and beyond. They have appeared numerous times at the BBC, as well as at Glastonbury Festival and WOMEX, and have collaborated and performed with projects such as Africa Express. Their aim is to show unity in action by bringing music directly to the people, young and old alike, creating shared moments of joy and genuine connection. Blending vibrant spontaneity, openness of spirit, and deep respect for one another’s traditions, the music speaks for itself. “The Turbans are a British-based fusion band whose “music from manywhere” switches from the Balkans to the Middle East and from flamenco to North Africa. The best track on their self-titled debut is a cheerful love song to Hackney.” The Guardian “A debut that’s politically conscious in all the right places." New Internationalist “The Turbans are a stomping ensemble that sound like Eastern Europe swinging the Middle East around by the arm in the middle of a raucous party. ”Songlines (from the tour preview) TICKETS ON SALE SOON
