Following in the footsteps of sadly discontinued The Bolster, its aim is to serve the community with updates from around the parish.

At some point in the future we hope to create a printed version of the news for those not online but this will depend on the success of the online version.
Happy 30th Birthday, RSPCA Cornwall Branch!

Poppy from the RSPCA Cornwall Branch came to talk to us about the charity’s work. This organisation is a self-funded rehabilitation and rehoming centre, relying on the kindness of the local community to give animals in need a second chance.
Every year, the branch cares for hundreds of cats and dogs across Cornwall who have experienced cruelty, neglect or abandonment. Animals receive daily care, veterinary treatment, and help to rebuild trust and confidence. When they are ready, they are carefully matched with new homes where they can thrive. With community support, the branch helps reduce suffering and improve animal welfare across Cornwall.
The RSPCA Cornwall Branch runs the Venton Animal Centre near St Columb. It is a completely self-funded, independent branch and receives no automatic funding from the national RSPCA.

We heard some wonderful success stories about dogs and cats who are now living their best lives.
Have you ever thought about fostering an animal? It’s a great way of caring for an animal without all the expense. The RSPCA remains the legal owner, but you can provide a foster home for as little as a few days or for much longer.

Watch out for their fundraising activities. Here’s to the next 30 years!

We are holding a coffee morning in the WI Square on Saturday 15th August, from 10:00am until 12:00 noon.
If the weather is wet, the event will be held inside the WI Hall.

This year’s chosen charity is the St Agnes Parishwide Defibrillator Network, and all proceeds will go towards supporting this important local cause.
Please come along and enjoy:
We look forward to seeing you there!

St Agnes Women’s Institute meets on the third Tuesday of each month, from 7:15pm to 9:15pm.
New members are always very welcome.
